ok this isn't going to be a complete list bc i have many and my collection forever grows and changes tbh but here goees
ADB App Control
A GUI for performing android debugging tasks, also particularly useful for fun hacky things.
Calibre
E-Book library management,
OBS
Open Broadcaster Software, for streaming and recording
RSS Guard
RSS reader, to learn more about RSS you can read
my guide to it and you can find my RSS feed
here
Screen2GIF
Records your screen and lets you edit and save it as a gif, I absolutely love this programmee so much because I hate sending screen recordings as videos when it doesn't need to be a video.
SSRSS
Super Simple RSS, a little simple tool to make and manage RSS xml files.
Tablacus Explorer
Tabbed file explorer with lots of other nifty little features
Thunderbird
Email client! I don't use it very often but when I need to send encrypted emails this is great for that.
Tree Sheets
Interest tree style spreadsheet organiser thing, I don't know how to describe it really but I fucking love it okay I love treesheets so much I've used it to organise a lot of my thoughts and stuff
TumblThree
A tool to archive posts from tumblr (and technically twitter), comes in handy
WinSCP
a great programme that lets you connect to all sort of remote directories (including the neocities webDAV if you've been a neocities supporter before) to access, transfer, and synchronise files across sources. it also supports stuff like FTP and SFTP. I prefer it to filezilla and it's proven super useful to me over the years.
WLM (escargot.chat)
Some of you might remember MSN or it's predecessor WLM, well escargot.chat has a revival of it and I managed to track down a working portable client for it :)
* this portable is hosted on my site, i prommy it's safe but it's not hosted officially anywhere i don't think so you'll just have to trust me, it's ok if not tho :(
Flashpoint
remember flash games? well flashpoint has a massive archive of thousands of them (even ones you might have thought were lost forever to time) and you can use their client to play them again :)
(watch this space! i might make a list of some of my favourite flash games on it)
melonDS
melonDS is my favourite nintendo DS emulator, and it's portable ! other portable emulators do exist (I used to use DeSmuME's portable) but melonDS just hits different and is slowly being developed to have more and more features which I think is pretty neat.
Tinke
Tinke is a tool for viewing and editing nintendo DS roms, works decently for ripping assets from some games too.
lots of roms :)
ok watch this space as well because i'll probably list some of my favourite games to play on the nintendo DS here eventually !!
Aseprite
Aseprite is, in my opinion, the best pixel art software out there. I love it so much and it comes with so many features already and then you can get more with a variety of extensions, and you can even use lua to write you own scripts and extensions for it.
* because i want people to support aseprite and it is a paid product i am not linking the portable here, however when you buy aseprite from their site or on itch.io they provide you with the portable files! (just don't buy it on steam directly as this won't give you the portables, you get a steam key when you buy it elsewhere anyway)
Blender
3D modelling and animation software, I use this heaps and it's pretty good. Takes ages to learn and get good at, I'm still learning even over a year later, but it's fun and it works and it's free and it has a portable version so.
FireAlpaca
honestly i don't use firealpaca as much as i used to anymore, but it was my first main digital art software that i used growing up for art outside of mspaint, so it holds a special place in my heart and remains in my portable collection
nanDECK
nanDECK is a programme for creating card decks of your own design, I haven't used it nearly as much as I'd like to have but I keep it on my USB for when I will hopefulyl have both the energy and motivation to work on some projects I have in mind.
picoCAD
simple 3D modelling software, it's hell and limited but that's part of the fun. i've yet to make anythign cool with it yet but it's cool to mess around with
* like with aseprite the portable is available on itch for a price
